Hiring Unit Overview
The Climate Change and Sustainability Division (INE/CCS) serves as the IDB focal point on climate change mitigation and adaptation.
Description of Functions/Activities
As part of the mitigation group at INE/CCS, the intern will assist in the coordination and execution of mitigation activities, especially those related to NAMAs. Key responsibilities and activities include:
  • Participate in the design of projects and programs related to NAMAs in the region, specially focused on energy, transport and housing;
  • Assist in project management and supervision, including budget planning and execution;
  • Draft technical reports and proposals;
  • Provide technical feedback on consultants work and activities related to projects on mitigation;
  • Assist in the organization of workshops and training activities for clients in the area of mitigation
Qualifications
Qualifications
Academic Background: (area of required specialization)
Students pursuing a MA or PhD Degree in a subject relevant to climate change mitigation (e.g. Engineering, Economics, International Development)
Computer Skills:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Languages: English and Spanish
Notes
  • Internship experience on international organizations is desired
  • Work experience in Latin America and the Caribbean region preferred
  • Teamwork with excellent coordination among colleagues in diverse disciplines to complete a joint product for internal and external use;
  • Good organization skills to take on multiple responsibilities simultaneously and maintain good attention to detail;
  • Highly-developed technical report writing and verbal communication skills; motivation, creativity, problem-solving skills.
