Background
The Office of Strategic Planning and Development Effectiveness (SPD) reports to the Office of the President and the Executive Vice-President and is charged with providing technical guidance to the Executive team in order to develop a culture of results within the Bank, and; to help the Bank innovate its core business, the effectiveness and efficiency of its products and methods over time. The SMO Division is charged with measuring and assessing corporate performance and increasing accountability for results. Among other projects and activities, the Division is responsible for the External Feedback System (EFS).
The EFS is an institutional effort to capture feedback from external partners regarding Bank's products and services in a systematic and consistent manner through online surveys applied on specific milestones of the project cycle.The EFS is a mandate established by the Board of Governors in the Ninth General Capital Increase (IDB-9). EFS survey results are reported in the Development Effectiveness Overview (DEO) and are used to improve IDB's products and services.
Consultancy Objective
To provide support to the External Feedback System (EFS) team in the implementation and monitoring of online surveys and the quantitative and qualitative analysis of survey information, writing of reports/Executive Briefs, and preparation of visual materials as well as assistance in related administrative tasks.
Activities
- Conduct the statistical analysis of survey data using Excel and STATA to analyze customer experiences (analysis by country, sector, product, type of external partner, etc.).
- Conduct qualitative analysis of survey data and analysis of other databases (PMR, DEM, etc.) to support the identification of major findings and preliminary hypothesis.
- Support in the preparation and launch of online surveys using the Qualtrics online survey platform. Monitor response levels to achieve positive response rates.
- Write reports in English and prepare high impact presentations.
- Support the EFS communications plan by preparing targeted communications and visual materials.
- Support the coordination and facilitation of varied consultation activities with internal and external stakeholders (interviews, meetings, focus groups, etc.).
- Support the coordination of meetings, record minutes and follow-up on commitments.
- Conduct other related tasks assigned by the EFS Project Team Leader or SMO Division Chief.

Qualifications
- Students pursuing a MBA or PhD Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science or related field.
- Candidates must be bilingual English and Spanish (oral and written). Knowledge of Portuguese and/or French is a plus.
- Candidates should have work experience in survey design, implementation and analysis of data.
- Candidates should have strong quantitative skills and the ability to manage large data sets using Excel, statistical tools (STATA), project management (MS project), and experience in the preparation of communications plans.
- Candidates must have the ability to work independently and to participate in project teams. Strong analytical abilities as demonstrated by academic achievement and other personal achievements. Ability to work in teams and flexibility to manage multiple demands.
The internship will work in the SPD/SMO division. Work will be coordinated by the EFS Project Team Leader, Armando Justo under the supervision of the SMO Division Chief Tracy Betts.
