Basic purpose

Under the general supervision of a Scientist/PDF, plan the implementation of experiment(s), surveys(s), and other research studies and conduct them as specified/ defined in the research outline. Collect and analyze data. Work closely together with collaborating partners. Contribute to data analysis and the preparation of manuscripts for reports, publication, and presentations/ posters. Assists in training activities.

Roles and responsibilities

1. Plan the implementation of routine experiment(s)/survey(s) in the field of [crop and water science] to support projects goals of the Organizational Unit's (OU's) research objectives related to CORIGAP.

Coordinate with collaborators on their research activities as required; Plan the support/manpower needed and set up work schedule; Prepare the material and equipment needed based on research outline; Assist in verifying and/or applying methods/techniques that will assist the successful implementation of the experiment/survey. Assist in supervising the implementation of experiments/surveys and/or other research studies in the field of [crop and water science in CORIGAP sites in Thailand and China Oversee the work of research technician and/or contract workers to ensure that research activities are implemented according to plan and specific standards; Coordinate with collaborating OU's to ensure the timely supply of material needed for study; Contribute to the maintenance of research areas and direct the maintenance of technical equipment (repair/replacement);

2. Collect and analyze research data in the field of crop and water science in CORIGAP sites in Thailand] Collect and process data to its required form; Identify inconsistencies in the data collection and/or missing information; Carry out graphical and basic statistical data analysis; Update database for storage and retrieval of information/data;

3. Contribute to the preparation of reports and publications, and presentations in the field of crop and water science. Provide appropriate data and information about experiments/research study; Contribute/posters for national and international conferences;

4. Support the training of scholars and on-the-job trainees as required Act as resource person for training courses and visitors;

5. People management Supervise the work of Research Technicians; Provide feedback on performance of Research Technicians to immediate supervisor; Assist students and trainees;

6. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor from time to time.

Qualification and Experience:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural engineering or related fields. Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in conducting collaborative agricultural field and/or laboratory experiment, collecting and processing samples, conducting field surveys and observations, and documenting experiment/field activities and data.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Mandatory Is familiar with quality control tools Has proven technical proficiency in conducting research experiments Has strong analytical skills Has strong computer proficiency, able top use appropriate computer software to process, interpret, communicate, and share data and research results
