ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING
This position is located in the Financial Management Section (FM) within the Division of Programme Support, and is reporting to the Finance Officer. The Financial Management Section is responsible for the budgetary, financial and accounting operations of all regular and extra budgetary resources of ITC. FM's mandate is to provide support to ITC's divisions in their budgetary activities, dealing with all accounting and financial operations of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Finance Officer and under the general guidance of the Chief, Financial Management, the incumbent will be responsible for:
- Settling invoices related to travel, including the verification of all invoices related to air and rail tickets, as well as travellers cheques payment.
- Preparing payments to the travel agent in the Integrated Management Information System (IMIS), including follow up where necessary.
- Reviewing travel claim payments to staff members, consultants, resource persons and meeting participants, ensuring that the requests are in compliance with ITC rules and procedures.
- Creating and maintaining reference files/records (electronic and paper) and filing of documents related to the above processes.
- Assisting in the follow up on income received from various parties and allocation to the appropriate funds.
- Responding to queries correspondence. in relation to payments and drafting of miscellaneous
- Researching / compiling data and other information required by the Finance Officer in the review and analysis of relevant proposals.
- Backstopping other Finance Unit staff during periods of absence or involvement in periods of project implementation.
- Performs other related duties, as required.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
EDUCATION:
- Completed secondary education supplemented by training in accounting, finance, business administration or budgeting.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of three years of experience in finance, budget accounting, administrative services or a related area.
LANGUAGES:
- Advanced knowledge of English with a working knowledge of French. Knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Knowledge of the UN computerized accounting system would be an asset.

TERMS OF SERVICE
Appointments with ITC are service-limited to this organization. The conditions of service are governed by the United Nations Staff Rules and Regulations. This is a fixed term appointment.
INDICATIVE ANNUAL SALARY AT THE G-4 LEVEL Annual Salary (net of tax) CHF 68,611 at single rate, with annual increments subject to performance.
