Description
Join the Skype Partner Engineering team and help develop and manage our technical partnership with international companies like Polycom, HP and numerous other global partners. Help shape and execute on our strategy for scaling our products with these key global partners worldwide.
We are seeking a highly motivated and seasoned Senior Program Manager. As part of your responsibilities you will work on envisioning and executing on the next gen Skype products developed between Microsoft and Global Engineering Partners. Some of the other things you will be responsible for include:
1. Envision and help architect the next generation of solutions with Global Partners around Unified Communications and Collaboration technologies like Branch Office Appliance, Networking Infrastructure, VoIP phones and other areas
2. Plan out a phased implementation of the architecture and release(s) of the above products based on technology and business needs
3. Lead a team to write specs for above products as well as specs for other areas as appropriate
4. Work across partner engineering team, core engineering, marketing and partners to get features implemented. This includes project and program management of features and deliverables
5. Ensure current product development with partners remains on plan
6. Participate in industry alliances as needed to enrich the UCC ecosystem
As part of program management responsibilities, the position will require ability to define strategy, architect and execute on the strategy, and get into the details. Ability to maintain a project level scope and also be able to drill into specific project and technology related issues to make and drive a successful release(s) is key. You will build strong relationships across internal teams, divisions and with external partners at product management and technical levels. You will identify and track key milestones critical to project success, reconcile schedules and resources across multiple projects, communicate schedule & status as it applies to the team and external partners.
Job Requirements:
• BS degree in Computer Science or related disciplines. Graduate degree is preferred
• 5+ years in the software technology industry, with experience in shipping software
• 5+ years’ experience in Unified Communications or related areas
• 5+ years developing relationships and products with Global companies like HP, Dell, Microsoft
• Demonstrated experience communicating with C level Executives is a definite plus
• Experience leading scrum and/or agile meetings
• Very strong communications skills
