Qualified women are especially encouraged to apply Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of Finance Officer and the overall supervision of Head of Finance and Admin Unit in Yangon, the Finance Assistants will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Verify Sub-imprest and Petty cash expenditure for sub offices; Timely processing of replenishment for both Sub-imprest and Petty Cash accounts and registration of acknowledgment in WINGS; Communicate with Head Quarter for cash in transit insurance; Prepare Payment Authorizations to sub offices as and when required; Follow up any pending financial matters with allocated sub offices; Initiate FBCJ Transactions (PC expenditure) in WINGS for allotted Sub-Offices; Verify TA/TEC and creating posting runs (PRFI); Prepare request for ban account replenishment for the Chinese currency payments every month; Prepare payment requests to China office, OMB and HQ as and when required; Create down payment request for any vendor advances and monitor their advances and other receivable and ensure timely clearance of vendor outstanding items, taking corrective follow up actions where required; Prepare cheques for all USD payments in proper vendor name and amounts; Focal person for verification and registration of SC/SSA payroll and overtime in WINGS; Record bid/Performance Bonds in line with finance procedures and update the register on a timely basis; Issue invoices for cost sharing activities and register receivable in WINGS; Arrange Local Currency Procurement Committee Meeting; Maintain record of financial Delegation of authority; Register and monitor third party agreements of common services; Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor and responsible to update the Terms of references accordingly;
Qualification Education: Minimum secondary school education including or supplemented by courses related to the area of work. A University degree holder with experience in related field will be advantaged.

Experience: At least three years of progressively responsible clerical work experience in general administrative work including at least one year in the field of finance, accounting, budget, audit or other related field and at least one year at the G3 level or equivalent. Knowledge: Experience utilising computers, including word processing, spreadsheet and other WFP standard software packages and systems. General knowledge of UN system financial policies, rules, regulations and procedures. Language: Fluency in both oral and written in English and Myanmar. Critical Success Factors: Ability to review a variety of data, identify and adjust data discrepancies. Identify and resolve operational problems. Ability to communicate moderately complex matters clearly and concisely. Ability to perform detailed work, work of a confidential nature and/or to handle a large volume of work possibly under time constraints. Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with people of different national and cultural backgrounds. Desired skills: Knowledge of WFP manuals in the area of finance and/or budget. Typing 35 wpm in English.
