Purpose of the Position The Logisitics Centre, UNICEF Supply Division, Copenhagen is seeking a dedicated: Insurance Assistant at the GS-6 level.
Key Expected Results Under the general supervision of the Chief, International Transport, the Insurance Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the review of Supply Division Insurance Policies / Guidelines and ensure timely insurance coverage and claims processing for the shipment of UNICEF cargo and UNICEF Supply Division / Country Office stocks. - Assists to ensure appropriate maritime, warehouse insurance conditions and coverage are provided - Monitor the validity of the policy and performance of the insurance broker and underwriters to provide the required services - Assist in the preparation of instructions and guidelines on Insurance for dissemination - Prepare and summarize all insurance requirements covering shipments, inventory of UNICEF Supply Division hubs and inventory in UNICEF Country Offices globally. - Insurance focal point for the Country Offices and Supply Division for all insurance related activities - Receive and process claims to ensure all proper documentation are attached prior to submission to Insurance broker. - Focal point to coordinate all concerned parties (Supply Division Centers, insurance broker and underwriters, etc.) in the event of a claim and its eventual submission and closure of the claim - Assist in monitoring and recording all claims and its eventual submission and/or settlement and closure of claim files - Focal point for UNICEF with insurance broker - Monitors and processes invoices covering insurance including the monitoring of relevant budget allocation to ensure invoices are charged against appropriate accounts and paid in time. - Creates,reviews and maintains master data in SAP relating to areas of responsibility. - Provide reports and analysis of insurance coverage and propose areas of improvement. - Other relevant duties as assigned. Qualifications of Successful Candidate Education and Work Experience: Completion of secondary education and supplemented by business administration / management / logistics studies. A minimum of six years of experience from a similar function or from administrative jobs in supply chain, insurance, shipping or other related field. Technical Competencies & Languages: Fluency in English. Knowledge of shipping, insurance, logistics. Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system advantageous and proficiency in Microsoft Office package in particular Word, Excel and Power Point.
