Purpose of the Position
The purpose of this post is to administer the Monitoring Infrastructure of the Centre.
Objectives of the Programme
The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.
Summary of Assigned Duties
Under the supervision of the Head, Server Infrastructure Unit, the incumbent will participate in the Administration and Operation of ICC's Monitoring Infrastructure, and more specifically will:
  • Administer the SCOM infrastructure, ensuring that it is stable, up to date, well designed, properly tuned and properly maintained
  • Extend the current infrastructure and /or implement a new infrastructure
  • Support SCOM users and improve/configure the existing Management Packs
  • Create relevant statistics for both SCOM team and SCOM user services
  • Develop ad-hoc management packs when required
  • Identify and troubleshoot known problems and document solutions
  • Perform required tasks in maintenance windows
  • Provide 'stand-by' services on a rotation basis during weekends, holidays and outside of normal working hours
  • Perform other duties as required

Functional Knowledge and Skills
Essential:
  • Knowledge of SCOM (installation, maintenance and operations)
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Windows systems, Group Policy and SQL servers
  • Good knowledge of SCOM Management Pack development
Education
Essential:
  • University degree in computer or information science, mathematics or related field
  • SCOM certification
  • MCITP: Enterprise Administrator
Desirable:
  • MCSE 2003 certified
  • Private Cloud with System Center 2012
Experience
Essential:
  • Five years or more of experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
  • Two years or more of dedicated SCOM Administration experience
  • Experience of Monitoring as a Service using SCOM
  • Good experience of scripting in XML, VBscript and PowerShell
Desirable:
  • Linux knowledge
  • SQL knowledge
Languages
  • Expert knowledge of English is required
  • Intermediate knowledge of French is desirable
