Specialization/Skills
Degree in technically related field with minimum of 4 years experience in Motor Vehicle Repairs.
Basic purpose
Under the minimal supervision of the Senior Manager — Transport Services, assist in the management of day-to-day operational activities of a team. Develop work plans, oversee and monitor implementation of services. Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders regarding team related issues. Monitor project expenditures and assist in budget allocation. Assist in drafting reports as needed by the Senior Manager-TS. Supervise staff in the team.
Roles and responsibilities
1. Assist in the management of the day-to-day operational activities of the Motor Vehicle Repair Shop team.
  • Plan, supervise and monitor the implementation of team specific activities to achieve operational goals;
  • Develop annual work plan for the team for approval by supervisor;
  • Oversee and monitor the implementation of existing and newly established services, policies, procedures and guidelines related to motor pool operations, vehicle repairs and
  • maintenance and other pertinent matters related to transport- motor pool operations. I Provide feedback to the supervisor considering the implementation of operational activities arid suggest actions for possible improvement;
  • Coordinate the requisition, preparation and proper handling of materials/equipment such as motor pool equipment such as lifts, tools, spare parts and other items related to vehicle maintenance that is necessary to fulfill assignments and/or deliver services related to transport~dispatch;
  • Assist in drafting, preparing and processing of reports as required by Senior Manager, internal and external customers such as other OU's requiring services of the Transport Department;
  • Keep track of team's activities and projects including budgets, defensive driving seminars and trainings for the MVRS staff— mechanics and technicians;
  • Act as Officer in Charge when supervisor is on leave;
2. Coordination and Liaison related to Motor Vehicle repair and Maintenance rendered to different Operational Units
  • Coordinate and communicate with other Operational units representatives regarding the implementation of TS- motor vehicle repairs specific activities to achieve operational goals;
3. Communication and Reporting
  • Draft reports on the status and progress of team assignments;
  • Provide administrative and/or technical advice on matters related to transport services — vehicle repair andmaintenance;
  • Draft report on the vehicle disposal and replacement programs of the Institute;
4. Budget Management
  • Monitor the budget that is allocated to the team to avoid overspending;
5. People management
  • Supervise team members to ensure that operational activities are implemented as planned;
  • Support the professional development of team members as requested by supervisor;
  • Provide feedback/information to the supervisor about the performance of team members;
6. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration or any technical related field;
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in Motor Vehicle Repairs.
