Degree in technically related field with minimum of 4 years experience in Dispatching Operations.
Basic purpose
Under the minimal supervision of the Senior Manager— Transport Services, assist in the management of day-to-day operational activities of a team. Develop work plans, oversee and monitor implementation of services. Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders regarding team related issues. Monitor project expenditures and assist in budget allocation. Assist in drafting reports as needed by the Senior Manager—TS. Supervise staff in the team.
Roles and responsibilities
1. Assist in the management of the day-to-day operational activities of the Motor Pool Dispatching Section team
- Plan, supervise and monitor the implementation of team specific activities to achieve operational goals;Develop annual Work plan for the team for approval by supervisor;
- Oversee and monitor the implementation of existing and newly established services, policies, procedures and guidelines related to dispatching which includes car allocation, car run, school bus runs, driving services and other pertinent matters related to transport-dispatching;
- Provide feedback to the supervisor considering the implementation of operational activities and suggest actions for possible improvement;
- Coordinate the requisition, preparation and proper handling of materials/equipment such as vehicle units, E-pass loads and other safety and security materials such as first aid kits, rescue equipment/vehicles necessary to fulfill assignments and/or deliver services related to transport-dispatch;
- Assist in drafting, preparing and processing of reports as required by Senior Manager, internal and externalcustomers such as other OU's requiring services of the Transport Department;
- Keep track of team's activities and projects including budgets, defensive driving seminars and trainings for thedispatching staff— drivers and dispatchers;
- Act as Officer in Charge when supervisor is on leave;
- Coordinate and communicate with other Operational units representatives regarding the implementation of Transport Services;
- Dispatch specific activities to achieve operational goals;
- Draft reports on the status and progress of team assignments;
- Provide administrative and/or technical advice on matters related to transport services — driving/vehicle use;
- Monitor the budget that is allocated to the team to avoid overspending;
- Supervise team members to ensure that operational activities are implemented as planned;
- Support the professional development of team members as requested by sponsor;
- Provide feedback / information to the supervisor about the performance of team members
- Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, or any technical related field;
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in Dispatching Operations;
- Has experience in supervising staff;
- Has worked in a Management environment Understands the needs of clients, is client-oriented;
- Has an eye for detail Has strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Has good organizational skills Add one or two skills here if needed;
- Has experience working for an international organization
