Description
Join the OSD Engineering Fundamentals team as we continue on the path to improve developers’ build experience. We’ve taken some code branches from multiple-hour builds to a few minutes using cloud computing. We’re simultaneously adding more branches while innovating on distributed build systems, build caching, and even using file system drivers and large storage systems to change the entire build model. The improvements we’ve made for teams have let them ship online services far more frequently while reducing the number of working branches developers need to enlist in.Ours is a mostly C# codebase, with some C++ code for low-level tools, along with ASP.NET MVC, HTML5, PowerShell, and various scripting languages. We deploy services to intranet as well as cloud environments. You’ll work on aspects of the entire build system code stack, from improving our cloud build performance, to increasing cache hit rates on build output caches, to parsing multiple build languages, to generating data into a business intelligence pipeline, to integrating cross-division code into a single coherent system.
Requirements:
- 8+ years software engineering experience in a high-level language
- Experience with multi-threaded programming (we use multi-core programming extensively)
- Cloud service implementation and deployment experience a plus
- MS in Computer Science, related engineering degree, or equivalent experience
