With the release of our current wave of products (Windows 8.1, Xbox, Office 365 etc), and next major wave of products in the pipeline, timing is perfect for an experienced, hands-on, deeply technical, and quality driven Senior SDET to join MPSIT Engineering team.
We are looking for a strong Senior SDET to join our team of strong SDETs, responsible for delivering high quality solutions in an agile environment. This role is an exciting opportunity for a strong technical leader who will partner with Development, Program Management, and Business partners to drive high quality releases from envision to deployment into Production.
You must be able to independently own the testing of technically complex features and be able to identify and understand key customer scenarios, provide inputs to architectural designs and implement test scenarios & test Plans. Candidates must have strong technical and programming skills, excellent troubleshooting and communication skills and passion for testing. You will also have opportunities to drive Test Strategy and work with Senior Test Leadership team in MSIT and influence how we approach testing across our organizations and shape up the next generation of SDETs, tools and test processes in MSIT. You will have a direct impact on the applications and services enabling the entire company to deliver our products to our customers with speed and agility.
You will be responsible for:
Ensuring quality releases for highly scalable systems.
Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing systems.
Work collaboratively with a team of diverse and talented peers in various disciplines including architecture, program management and software development to provide test input on feature and product designs.
Participate actively in detailed design, code reviews, and bug discussions with the feature teams and support well informed decisions towards business and engineering goals to effectively solve software challenges.
Contribute to the development of the test infrastructure, automation, monitoring and tools that reduce test cost and time to market.
Mentor other engineers to grow to similar levels of expertise and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience as an SDET coding in C#/C++.
Strong coding, design and problem solving skills.
Self-driven individual who can deal with ambiguity.
Participated in a complete product/service release cycle.
Experience with designing and implementing robust automation frameworks, infrastructure and tools.
Experience in working with or leading virtual teams and influencing senior management.
Experience defining test strategies, processes and quality criteria/metrics.
Experience with Agile & Scrum development.
BS/MS degree in Computer Science / Mathematics or equivalent experience.
