The goal of a Service Build Engineer is to Plan, Deploy, Operate, and Optimize software through scalable, repeatable and predictable processes and great technology. This role is accountable for compliance and stay current of a world class application infrastructure, working in high security production environments, ensuring successful releases by performing build documentation, coordination, deployment and operations tasks, and engaging in proactive system design activities during early phases of project planning.

Senior Build Engineer responsibilities:
Perform as a service build engineer for delivering infrastructure and critical applications for Product Release and Secure Software Services
o Establishes the release build approach 
o Assembles and integrates release components, Validates release package, Identifies and reports any issues with release build, Remediates service build issues as appropriate 
o Creates Service Installation Plans, Procedures and Scripts 
o Creates Service Release Deployment and Validation Plan 
o Develops manual deployment procedures and/or automated deployment scripts 
Track all managed servers (Security Compliance, Stay Current status, EOL status, Virtualization Status)
Maintain code and configuration consistency across servers that are affected by a release.
Maintain operational documents and tools that Service Transition teams use.
Ensuring successful continuous compliance of complex infrastructure and application in secure facility by implementing processes and procedures defined by our engineering team
Ongoing maintenance of servers
Proactively support multiple, highly complex systems. 
Deploy and troubleshoot software applications written by internal and external development teams in the pre-production environment.
Responsible for managing and supporting the hardware and network environments. 
Drive process improvements within the team and the larger organization as a whole.
Provide proactive coordination across multiple support teams. 
Partner with the development, test and production support teams to resolve issues.

Scope & Impact
Business Requirements Planning: Contribute to requirements reviews for solutions which result in alignment between multiple programs or services and the business strategy and ensure plan or strategy buy-in 
Service Architecture: Apply appropriate standards, principles, guidelines, patterns and artifacts of architecture, which result in standard and quality systems 
Service / System Design: Design service specifications that meet business requirements by analyzing solution priorities and service or system processes 
Design Review: Conduct design reviews and ensure that application designs adhere to architecture standards, overall roadmap, and meet customer requirements 
Service and Continuity Planning: Establish standards for a design, architecture, and recovery process which result in comprehensive, scalable disaster recovery plans across multiple groups and services 
Implementation Planning and Coordination: Develop or contribute to creating an implementation, validation, and rollback plan, resulting in clear roles, dependencies and relationships of resources, enabling effective transition to operations 

Requirements/Qualifications and Previous Work and Related Experience (including educational requirements):
Sound troubleshooting skills
A solid working knowledge of Web Technologies (Administration),SQL Server Administration/T-SQL and IIS Administration
Demonstrated experience in Infrastructure Support, Hardware/OS, Networking and Lab Management
Feedback/Metrics collection techniques
Preferred skills in web technologies ( development), ASP, COM+ and C#, XML and scripting, WMI, VB, PERL
Preferred experience in technical writing, technical research and technical project management.
Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills 
Ability to manage and deliver multiple project phases at the same time
Strong analytical and organizational skills
BA/BS in Business and Master’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field or three to six years of equivalent experience
BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS, Business, IT or related field preferred
5+ years experience in technical IT operations including working knowledge of MOF/ITIL best practices and demonstrated experience implementing and engineering systems within these frameworks.
5+ years experience managing supportability and troubleshooting the availability of applications, properties, systems, networks, and servers for high availability enterprise systems. 
Microsoft certification in one or more disciplines desirable (MCSE, MCDBA, or similar)
