Description

Relief International is a humanitarian non-profit agency that provides emergency relief, rehabilitation, development assistance, and program services to vulnerable communities worldwide. Relief International is dedicated to reducing human suffering and is non-political and non-sectarian in its mission. Relief International Myanmar is implementing a project to strengthen the capacity of women's cooperatives in Myanmar (SWIM).
The project will include working with one national-level umbrella cooperative and supporting women's involvement in cooperatives at the community-level. Activities will include raising awareness of the function and role of cooperatives, direct support in the setting-up of cooperatives, and the networking of cooperatives to the national network and local communities.
General Description of Role
The Program Manager will assist in the scheduling and oversight of all project activities, taking responsibility for liaison with local authorities and other local stakeholders, assisting on report writing, ensuring regular monitoring of all activities.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Provide overall management of project implementation as a whole through technical provision.
  • Design technically efficient and cost effective programme appropriate for hard to reach target areas.
  • Ensure all programme implementations are running effectively and efficiently.
  • Act as key contact person of SWIM project team with donor and HQ
  • Ensure accountable of result over programme activities for all relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with programme team and relevant authorities on necessary update of project planners.
  • Monitor project activities checking across with logical framework.
  • Provide technical assistance in planning, managing and implementing cooperative activities.
  • Represent RI at cooperative-related coordination meetings or other meetings as required.
  • Work with M&E officer for programme monitoring to ensure necessary supervision.
  • Assist in setting up tools, processes or documentation as needed or required to improve the monitoring and oversight of project activities and its processes.
  • Any other duties required to support the successful implementation of project activities as required.
Desired background and experience
  • Education to University Degree in relevant fields.
  • At least 7 years proven experience in NGOs/INGOs/UN Organizations
  • Able to work independently to conduct the day-to-day operations of the organization in the field, asking for support when needed.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management and monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in preparation of donor reports
  • Experience of working on EC-funded projects an advantage
  • Proven experience of managing a team of people
  • Strong community facilitation experience
  • Fluency in oral and written communication skills (English and Myanmar)
  • Excellent working knowledge and skill on computer (MS Word, Excel, and Power point )
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to be pro-active and demonstrated enthusiasm and team spirit
  • Capacity to motivate colleagues, partners and project beneficiaries
  • Adaptable to change and capacity to work under pressure
  • High Level of Integrity
  • Ability to travel
