Community Health Research Worker (02 posts) with the Matlab Community Health Research under Centre for Reproductive Health (Advertisement #361/13)

icddr,b invites applications from suitable Female candidates for the position of  Community Health Research Worker (02 posts) with the Matlab Community Health Research under Centre for Reproductive Health. The appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 2 years, but may be extended for further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Duty station – Matlab.

Salary – Annual Tk.202,600/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances with other admissible benefits.

Benefits/facilities – 14.8% retirement fund contribution by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,420/- per child per month, medical facilities for dependent spouse and children, group life insurance. Subsidized canteen, transport and daycare facilities subject to availability.

Job Profile:

• Collect Information: Visit the house of participants and collect different type of information i.e reproductive history, contraceptives use etc; Identify pregnancy through reproductive history & urine test in order tosupport research by uncovering evidence.

• Community Services:  Provide Family Planning (FP) and EPI services and management of minor illness of mother and <5 years children at Fixed Site Clinic (FSC) and provide referral for severe illness in order to execute activities in accordance with research protocol.

• Organize Training: Conduct Home Based Life Saving Skills (HBLSS) training for pregnant mother and arrange familial meeting at community level in order to increasing Family Planning (FP) coverage,  Ante Natal Checkup (ANC) and facility delivery.

• Support Different Research Studies: Take part actively in other/various research studies as needed; Keep record of all contraceptives, drugs and other logistics in proper way in order toimprove the productivity of the programme.

Requirements:

Education and Relevant Experience:

• HSC Pass or any other relevant domain;
• 2 years of experience in field research; Willing to use a part of their house to run fixed site clinic;Candidates must be from Matlab MCH-FP area (Block-A for Kaladi Village and Block – B for Lamchori and Baluchar villages) with valid CID/RID number.

• Knowledge of Ethical Guidelines;
• Knowledge of Sample collection and storage;
• Knowledge on Family Planning and EPI services.
