Join our Technical Evangelism and Development team in the Developer and Platform Evangelism (DPE) organization, with its objective to enable the development of industry leading applications and services across devices.
As a Program Manager, push your architecture skills to the limit working with complex, scalable, highly available solutions worldwide. Your will work closely with some of the coolest new startups, as well as enterprise ISVs looking to develop apps for cloud. You'll engage with ISVs to architect applications on Azure, providing expertise to map an ISV’s application needs to Azure’s building blocks, and shape an architecture that truly takes advantage of Azure’s elasticity, scale, and availability. You’ll combine this with Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8. You’ll incorporate NoSQL, Big Data, Mobile Services, Messaging, and more. You’ll shape architectures based on scalability, performance, availability and cost. You will work closely with Windows Azure engineering, providing feedback and influencing the roadmap. You will build and publish Proof-of-Concepts and reference architectures for others to learn from. You will have plenty of opportunities for hands-on development and learning emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
Drive technical architecture for top ISVs
Design, code and test proof of concept apps and frameworks for Azure, Windows and Windows Phone apps
Work closely with internal engineering groups to give product feedback, influence product roadmap and priorities, and remove technical blockers.
Build and deliver compelling application demos, technical content, and presentations for Microsoft online assets and third-party events
The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing highly scalable software systems
Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: C#, Node.js, Java
Cloud experience on one of the following platforms is ideal: Windows Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Engine, Rackspace, Heroku
Mobile application development on one of the following platforms is a serious plus: Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, iOS, Android
Have a strong passion for technology and future platform thought leadership with specific interests in Cloud computing and Client/Web.
Strong interest and ability to engage both small and large technical audience through public presentations/speaking.
BS/BA degree
This role can be based in Redmond or Silicon Valley and will require moderate travel (20%).
