Join the AMP (Apps, Media and Publishing) team! Under the new “One Microsoft” corporate strategy of connected experiences across devices and services, AMP is chartered to build Bing powered customer channels across all screens (eg. Windows, Windows Phone, Web, etc). These channels span across News, Finance, Weather, Lifestyle, Sports, you name it. You may have already come across many of these apps we delivered out-of-the-box in Windows 8.x, we are now expanding to new territories and populating more screens than ever. Come join us during this hyper-expansion phase to work with the cutting edge of technology and experiences!
We in the Lifestyle team are working on brand new experiences and engagement model for all-things related to living. This position specifically is for a unique opportunity to drive a brand new experience to enhance people’s everyday life. This is probably the most exciting project Microsoft has seen in years with the potential to reach millions of users, and it has the ability to generate a new revenue stream for the company. Time-to-market is critical to the success of the product so we are staffing up really quickly to take on this challenge. We are looking for both client devs as well as server devs. On client side we use Javascript, CSS, WinJS, WinRT, C#. On server side we use ASP.Net MVC, WebAPI, Azure, C#, Bing big data technologies. We pride ourselves as the innovation powerhouse in the application space, so creativity and entrepreneurial spirit are key traits we are looking for. You will own all aspects of design, architecture and quality implementation for your features, as well as helping to shape the user scenarios along with PM + Design. There will also be opportunities for you to branch out from one screen to another, getting exposure to multiple end to end technology stacks.
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Commercial software development (10+ years)
Experience with developing backend services, big data, map reduce (3 years)
Experience building highly available services.
Experience with Azure technologies a big plus.
Experience with Bing a big plus but not required.
Experience with UX, frontend development.
Experience with performance analysis, profiling (client, server) a plus.
Enjoys a collaborative environment with PM, Test, Design and Editorial.
Enjoys the fast pace of a startup organization
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
