The UN Somalia Risk Management Unit (RMU) has been established to support all United Nations entities working in Somalia (UNCT Somalia), as well as partners and donors. This unit works within the Office of the Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator.
The RMU is unique within the United Nations system and has made considerable progress in advancing the risk management agenda for the UNCT Somalia. Consequently, the RMU is looking for a highly motivated individual who can positively contribute to the work of the team, and support the humanitarian and development operations of the United Nations in Somalia. The Drupal Development Assistant is responsible for assisting the Head of Risk Management Unit through the Database Administrator Associate, in the provision of specialised and technical support of the Contractor Information Management System (CIMS).
Functional Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Risk Management Unit through the Database Administrator and in collaboration with the wider Risk Management Unit, the Drupal Development Assistant will have the following responsibilities:
- Compilation and uploading of the Risk Management Unit data into the CIMS.
- Scheduled review of existing data uploaded in the system for compliance and quality assurance.
- Assist in the development of functionalities for the CIMS using Drupal 6.
- Assist in the Upgrade of CIMS in Drupal 7.
- Assist in the training of internal and external users of CIMS.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Head of Risk Management Unit and/or Database Administrator.

Education/Experience/Language requirements
- Completion of secondary education mandatory. Professional certification in the field of Information Sciences, computer sciences or engineering or related field is a plus.
- Diploma or University degree preferably in Information Sciences, computer sciences or engineering is an asset.
- The candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible or job related experience.
- Demonstrated experience in PHP, MySQL, C++ as well as database and application design/development is essential.
- Experience in problem solving and the ability to identify solution based outcomes is desired.
- Teamwork – an ability to foster a spirit of cooperation and collaboration.
- Demonstrated experience in Drupal application development;
- Fluency in written and oral English required.
Certifications
- Professional certification in the field of Information Sciences,computer sciences or engineering or related field is a plus.
