The Learning eXperiences group (LeX) within DPE is chartered with driving this change. LeX is at the epicenter of Microsoft’s competitive battle to win adoption of our technology. We will achieve this by driving the next generation of Learning Strategy, Massive Digital Engagement with our ecosystem, and New Cloud Products and Business Models. 

LeX has new transformative roles open in its Product Management team. We are product managers and entrepreneurs. We are going to the cloud to reinvent a market of 100M+ technologists. We are also building a new startup SaaS (Software as a Service) business on Azure. 

LeX has an immediate opening for a Director of Product Management. This role is focused on massive adoption by the long-tail of technologists and students. We must enable the ecosystem to adopt and build apps, competing against Google, Android, and Apple for our future. Today we train millions directly through the Microsoft Virtual Academy, while also training millions through the IT Academy. Our mission is to take the millions in our learning programs today, and grow that by 10X. The Responsibilities and Capabilities required for this role include:

• Product Management: Land product/competitive strategy, positioning, value proposition, and product requirements. Build the packaging strategy for the next generation of IT Academy, by determining the most impactful offers and products in the package.
• Strategy and Business Model: Determine the pricing and licensing of the IT Academy product, to maximize adoption. In addition, drive the business model for Microsoft Virtual Academy - including a freemium model from free to paid learning offers.
• Customer Insight and Market Demand Strategy: Determine the breakthrough market demand from the long-tail of developers, IT Pros, and students. Figure out what online learning products and experiences would address and heighten demand, and compel massive viral engagement.
• Digital Reach and Engagement Strategy: Be a master of digital strategy - from online products to digital go-to-market strategy - and land plans to highly scale Microsoft Virtual Academy.
• Online/Cloud Business Funnel Management: Product manage high-scale reach for Microsoft Virtual Academy; convert visits to learning engagement, and then ultimately to adoption and marketplace apps.

Job Qualifications:
• 8 years of proven product management including the ability to define demand, product requirements, positioning, and value proposition. Track record of landing successful product and channel strategies.
• Knowledge and experience with massive reach and digital/cloud strategy
• Experience in running the business, including FY planning, forecasting, and scorecard governance
• Excellent rigor, strategic thinking, business model, and analytical problem solving skills
• Strong writing, communication, presentation, and collaboration skills. Able to rally the org to drive a new and exciting offering.
• Technical aptitude and passion for technical training, with some knowledge of IT training industry, virtual learning, and MOOCs
• A BA/BS degree in business or related area required. MBA a plus.
