This is a clear effort to break down barriers and realize the full potential of Microsoft and the Windows ecosystem. These changes will reshape how we interact with our customers, developers and key innovation partners, delivering a more coherent message and family of product offerings. This drives simplicity and focus allowing us to be more agile and responsive in capitalizing on opportunities in a number of key areas.
The Operator Channels (OC) business is one of those key areas. Operator Channels within the Consumer Channels Group, is dedicated to driving and elevating Microsoft’s relationship with Operators across the world. With Operator Channels, Microsoft is placing a strategic emphasis on Operators as key go-to-market partners for Microsoft software, devices and services for share gain across Windows devices, as well as Consumer and Business Cloud Services. To help grow our Operator Business and align to these changes we are actively seeking a Client Director to drive and build strategic partnerships between Microsoft and a Channel client.
The Client Director will own the all executive relationships focusing on business development strategies to envision a mutually beneficial offerings portfolio based on Microsoft’s core businesses. The Client Director will also be responsible for evangelizing the technology, products and software services engagement strategy, and is accountable for the overall client experience including investment empowerment and multi-year business plans.
The role requires a high level of confidence in dealing with board level executives to gain trust and credibility while developing a business framework to commercialize the sell-with offering, emphasizing the investments required to ensure success. As a key strategist within Microsoft’s Consumer Channels Group, you will have end-to-end business performance accountability for one of our key global accounts, and tasked with further developing an Operator’s service offering in an effort to positively impact the Client’s business.
The CD’s Business Priorities include:
1. Develop a coherent channel strategy and a well-managed over-arching business plan that contributes to the yearly revenue targets and long term growth objectives for that CCG/Channel Client partnerships.
2. Manage the next generation of strategic win-win partnerships; envision new offerings and investment opportunities that span across BGs at Microsoft.
3. Seek to ensure competitiveness of a client within the channel by driving insights and relationships with the Executive teams, factoring the client environment and market/channel trends, while evaluating external compete strategies and internal work streams required to create potential opportunities;
4. Delivering effective leadership and support in the development of strategy for business partnerships with Top-11 client, including soliciting, evaluating and/or responding to offers for sell-with ventures, partnerships, proposals, etc. Use financial modeling and market forecasting to enhance the business case of each potential opportunity.
5. Identify and build third parties (ISV’s, SI) relationships to complement /complete Microsoft offerings. Build appropriate Executive relationships with these partners to ensure alignment Microsoft and client goals to ensure long term success.
6. Leading and managing a direct team of integration specialists who are prepared to respond effectively to the specific needs of the Top-11 client.

We’re seeking candidates with strong business and relationship building acumen at the executive level, who thrive owning an integrated channel strategy (direct/indirect) with key global partners. Qualified candidates should have:
• 10+ years’ experience in Sales, Marketing, Sales or Business Management
• Excellent business analysis, communication, planning, presentation, and executive-level sales and relationship skills are essential
• Exceptional track record (10+ yrs.) of selling technology solutions w/a significant quota
• Deep knowledge and expertise in the Operator/Cable industry. Familiarity with the Partner is highly desirable.
• Executive presence and maturity with the ability to impact through influence
• Strong analytical skills and interpersonal awareness
• Experience using data driven insights to shape partner opportunities and/or engagement models
• Someone who can act as a “player & coach”, as this position requires management of a small team combined but also hands on work
• Experience driving compete strategies across the channel
