Primary Purpose:
This position is responsible for overseeing the data collection and analysis of the Matching Grant Program for the provision of technical assistance to the CWS affiliate network. The incumbent also has primary contact with a portfolio of local offices which collaborate with CWS in the implementation of Reception and Placement (R&P) and Matching Grant programs. S/he assists local offices in maintaining best practices in service provision to ensure the well-being of newly arrived refugees. This position has significant duties related to data analysis and federal report writing. Some travel will be necessary.
Essential Duties:
  • Conducts desktop, onsite and ongoing monitoring of affiliates and sub-offices for compliance with the guidelines of the Matching Grant and R&P programs. Documents findings and presents recommendations for corrective actions in written reports.
  • Conducts grant writing, reporting, data collection and budget reviews for Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) related grants. Regularly reviews statistical reports to analyze data trends and respond appropriately.
  • Develops Matching Grant materials for use at CWS headquarters and across the network.
  • Assists with planning, preparation and implementation at CWS conferences and training events. Presents at conferences when requested.
  • Contributes in preparation of the written response to the annual requests for proposal to the US Office of Refugee Resettlement, and other federal grants.
  • Provides ongoing training to the CWS network regarding Matching Grant reporting, data base use, and best practices in generating matching funds.
  • Regularly reviews R&P and Matching Grant policies, forms, and manuals in order to stay abreast of changes in program implementation.
  • Attends meetings related to the Matching Grant program as well as other meetings, task forces, and working groups on behalf of CWS as requested.
  • Works collaboratively as part of the resettlement staff team, consulting with processing staff and denominational staff to plan resettlement activities and training.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as requested.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from High School or GED, supplemented by two years of training in immigration work; or a degree in particular area of work to be performed; or five years work experience. Experience: Experience in a local or national resettlement program. General office work, processing information and materials while maintaining records and files. Experience in working with database software. Strong writing skills a must.

Respect and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information within parameters defined by supervisor and/or CWS policy.

Make the most of own time and resources to maximize stewardship to CWS. Demonstrate respect for one another in relationships with staff, supervisors and managers. Understand stewardship role in working within budget and monitoring finances. Prepare reports on program status relative to budget and finances.

Other Skills: Computer literacy, using word processing applications. Able to travel on a limited basis.
