Based in Fargo, North Dakota, our diverse community of Software Engineers is developing Microsoft Dynamics; the future of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. Our Content Publishing team creates documentation that drives customer success, productivity and satisfaction with Microsoft Dynamics AX - an Enterprise Resource Planning product which includes financial, supply chain, professional services, and retail management. We’re looking for an experienced technical writer to create documentation for core financial management, including setting up charts of accounts, optimizing transaction processing, and reporting, along with other aspects of financial management. 

We’re looking for someone who can write great scenario-based documentation; who can mine multiple sources of data, and use it to create and publish compelling, high quality content in a timely manner. We need someone who will take smart risks, doesn’t need hand-holding, has big ideas and opinions, and knows how to engage the ideas and opinions of others. 

As a member of our team, you can expect to:
- Write UI text that makes using Dynamic AX intuitive, and that fosters customer productivity
- Write scenario-based documentation to help customers configure AX for users throughout their organizations in ways that promote their success
- Build relationships with product teams and content partners
- Analyze, respond to, and share customer feedback, and then use that data to drive additional content development efforts
- Collaborate with other talented and experienced writers in Fargo, as well as in Denmark, Redmond and other locations
- Propose ideas to help improve the content experience for Dynamics AX

You’ll also take advantage of opportunities to connect with customers through site visits, blogs, discussion lists, and social media, and to create tools and processes that help us improve our documentation and our customers’ productivity. You will need to juggle multiple tasks, plan and prioritize your own work, and help lead projects involving other writers. You’ll need to think out of the box, develop and propose new ideas, and take a lead in improving the quality of the content that our team publishes.

The ideal candidate will have many of the following characteristics:
- Five or more years of experience producing high-quality, technically accurate user documentation
- Proven track record in delivering compelling, customer-focused, high-quality content on time
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize multiple work items
- Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and processes quickly and independently
- Exceptional listening and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of ERP or other business software and its documentation
- Ability - and preferably experience - to work as a key member of a globally a distributed team
- Passion for technology and empathy for what customers experience as they work with our products
- An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, English, Journalism, Technical Communications, Computer Science, or a related discipline
