We need your help to make this great product a market success.Our part of Windows Phone has the charter to commercialize the actual phones and in this capacity we work directly with OEMs, Mobile Operators and other partners to develop strategic features or capabilities, respond to issues raised in the field and to get these updates over-the-air to the phones. This Software Development Engineer in Test role is for the team that owns the device update process; we have a very broad scope of ownership including receiving device updates and pushing these updates through the system to the customer’s phones.
We are looking for a very strong Software Development Engineer in Test (SDETII) who is passionate about quality. In this role, you need to be a flexible and creative problem solver as we have expectation that you will play a part in helping find bugs and finding root cause. You will also work in a fun environment with Dev, PM and other partners to develop key features and capabilities to drive the update system forward. We need a SDETII who can operate independently, deal effectively with ambiguity and who want to make a difference. SDETs in our team are entitled and expected to participate actively in the triage and direction of their areas in addition to core testing activities. This position also requires interactions with many teams so good cross team collaboration is essential.
What we need from you:
- 4+ years of professional test/QA experience.
- Knowledge of all aspects of testing end-user products: Functional, Performance, Scalability, Security, Globalization, Stress, Usability, etc.
- Deep coding experience in C# (some C++), SQL
- Proven experience driving quality of complex features with lots of dependencies and integration points
- Strong communication skills
- Strong Testing skills and the desire and ability to find great bugs before our customers and partners do
- Ability to shift and ramp up quickly in different areas of the product
- B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
The ideal candidate will also possess one or more of the following:
- Experience developing or testing software for Mobile devices
- Experience in BI collection, Reporting, Azure and Dynamics
