With more than 10 years of experience in the country, the UNOPS Afghanistan office supports national reconstruction and development efforts by providing projects with goods and services - from stand-alone, one-off solutions to long-term management and capacity development support. Based in Kabul, UNOPS in Afghanistan has sub-offices in every region of the country. The team implements projects in support of the Afghanistan National Development Strategy, in a wide range of sectors including infrastructure, education, environment and agriculture, and governance and rule of law.
Functional Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer, required to perform the following duties:
- In close coordination with Logistics Officer he will interact with suppliers;
- Receive the goods as per the description on the purchase request and purchase order;
- Prepare the analytical report for the logistics officer;
- Display bin cards on each item in the warehouse;
- Maintain the inventory;
- Complete the necessary documentation and filing according to the UNOPS warehouse and assets management policy.
- Coordinate with the logistics officer for transportation arrangement for dispatches;
- Generate the commodities movement way bills and gate passes.
- Assist the logistics officer to prepare the report related to the warehouse operation;
- Maintenance / record keeping of 'disposal of assets' and preparation of documents to write-off such items from inventory.
- Monthly / quarterly reconciliation of UNOPS Stock, as per physical count, reconciliation of inventory reports and update record keeping.
- Stocktaking/Asset verification process as per IPSAS and Headquarter requirements;
- Maintain the records on logistics process and related documents and files to ensure transparency and accountability;
- Assist in arranging clearances for consignments by preparing Tax Exemption Certificates and necessary permits from government.
- Perform other duties as requested by the logistics officer.

- Secondary Diploma required; relevant certificates plus 2 years of additional relevant work experience may be considered.
