The Department of Research and Chief Economist (RES)
The Department of Research and Chief Economist (RES) generates new ideas to enrich the knowledge base that supports the policy agenda of the Bank and its member countries for achieving sustainable and equitable development in the region. To maximize the impact of its research, RES carries out activities that serve as inputs to Bank departments, governments, the academic community and public opinion in the region.
Responsibilities
- Macro- and microeconomic data collection and processing.
- Basic regression analysis.
- Literature review, including articles published in peer-reviewed academic journals in the field of economics.
- Preparing charts and tables for presentations.
- Writing summary reports
Qualifications
Education:
Student enrolled in MA or MS degree in Economics only.
Experience:
Experience working with either macroeconomic or microeconomic databases.
The candidate may be required to read and review technical articles (economics) written in English.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Excel; advanced knowledge in Stata (experience programming in Stata is preferred) or similar statistical package.
Languages:
Proficiency in either English or Spanish with strong verbal/written communication skills in the second language is required.
