The Integration and Trade Sector (INT)
The Integration and Trade Sector (INT) advises the IDB's management on trade and regional economic integration issues and related Bank strategies and programs. It is also responsible for policy-relevant research on regional and global economic integration issues, as well as specialized technical sector support to trade and integration-related operations and activities.
Responsibilities
The Winter Intern will provide research assistance to INT staff in the preparation of empirical evidence, studies, policy documents, and other written materials produced by the staff economists and trade specialists on the basis of their work program.
More specifically, the summer Intern will, on a regular basis:
- Support preparation of, and contribute to, policy oriented country and region-specific reports.
- Collect process and analyze economic data for Latin American and Caribbean countries and regions.
- Perform bibliographic searches, read and summarize relevant literature.
- Other similar tasks as required.
Qualifications
Educational Background:
Master's degree student or equivalent in economics, strong quantitative skills, and experience in conducting analysis and research on trade and integration related issues.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in the use of and statistical and econometric processing software is considered a plus.
Languages:
Proficiency in English and Spanish
