Winter Internship Program 2014 - Diversity Initiative
Grants and Co-financing Management Unit Providing funding solutions is the mission of the Grants and Co-financing Management Unit, (ORP/GCM). GCM serves as an efficient and effective interface that links funding partners and their resources to high value-added Bank projects, Knowledge products, and programs that meet the needs of Latin America and the Caribbean. The main objectives of GCM are: 1) To facilitate grant financing and co-financing of priority Bank Projects: 2) To fulfill the Bank's fiduciary obligations related to external/internal grant resources, ensuring compliance with agreements and reporting on execution and results; and to 3) To ensure relevance of grand and all externally financed projects to borrowing member countries by supporting their integration into the Bank's programming exercise.
Responsibilities
  • Identify, retrieve and analyze data from Bank data systems on the different dimensions of technical cooperation operations by country, fund , sector and the overall technical cooperation program , including budgetary estimation comparison, concurrence with end-of project reports, completion of project monitoring requirements and project completions reports;
  • Input data into GCM's grant financing systems as needed to improve data quality, correct inconsistencies,
  • Conduct data collections exercises, including the design and implementation and analysis of surveys on client satisfaction to identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to a collegial and team-based work environment of the unit;
  • Exercise initiative in selecting and applying research and data analysis techniques;
  • Work on more than one project at the same time.
Qualifications
Educational Background:
Master's degree student or equivalent in economics, business administration, public policy, information systems or related field. The candidate must have some work experience in research projects bases on the application of different data analysis techniques.
Computer Skills:
Major PC Software's, plus strong knowledge of Excel, including advanced graphing functions, data analysis , macros, etc.
Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish or English with strong verbal/written communication skills in one of both languages.
