Medical Officer with the Research Group of Quality and Impact of MNH Service Delivery under the Centre for Reproductive Health (Advertisement #371/13)

icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of Medical Officer with the Research Group of Quality and Impact of MNH Service Deliveryunder the Centre for Reproductive Health. The appointment will be made on a Contractual Service Agreement (CSA) basis for 7 months, which may be extended for further period depending on availability of funds and satisfactory performance.

Duty Station – Kanaighat, Zakigonj and Beanibazar upazilas of Sylhet.

Salary - Tk.71,155/-(consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. No other benefit is admissible.

Job Profile:

• Clinical Management: Monitor the project related activities and staff; Assess, enroll and manage under five children at hospital and community after obtaining informed consent from the parents; Work with the laboratory technician to collect specimens from the enrolled children; Collect blood, urine and cerebrospinal fluid from selected under five children independently if required; Follow-up patients daily to review response to clinical assessment, specimens collection and treatment in order to fulfill the study objectives.

• Knowledge Sharing: Provide clinical training to project staff and work with them for maintaining quality of project activities; Liaison and coordinate with GoB/MOHFW and other partners involved in the project implementation in order to share experience(s) and learning with team members.

• Professional Development: Attend all trainings and mentoring activities organized by icddr,b; Develop and demonstrate interest in a particular specialty; Seek opportunities to be exposed to research activities of the Centre in order to continually develop clinically and acquire new skills.

Requirements:

Education and Relevant Experience:

• MBBS degree with completed internship training;
• 1 year of experience in relevant field, which may be relaxed for candidates having required competencies.
