Basic purpose

Lead and manage IRRI's overall fundraising and resource mobilization program.

Roles and responsibilities

Major Accountabilities / Responsibilities 1. Manage the Development Office; 2. Work closely with senior management to formulate, implement and review lRRl's fund raising strategy; 3. Plan. direct, and coordinate IRRI'S fund raising activities and special projects to identify and tap new and innovative sources of funding for lRRl's research agenda; 4. Undertake research and related activities to identify and engage d new donors; 5. Maintain and nurture relationships with current and potential donors, both traditional and nontraditional; 6. Leverage key relationships and contacts to ensure that lRRl meets its fundraising target; Work closely with proposal writers and scientists to prepare proposals that match donors' interests; 7. Support and facilitate the role of senior management in fund raising activities, and 8. Supervise and mentor staff of the IRRI Development Office. Education and Experience

• Minimum Education : Graduate degree in related field
• At least 5 years of direct experience of nonprofit fundraising/development; familiarity with developments issues, legal and campaign strategies
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills; persuasive and motivational communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills, ability to participate in public speaking events; ability to develop and manage budgets.
