Field Research Officer with the Research Group of Tuberculosis and Leprosy under the Centre for Communicable Diseases (Advertisement #359/13)

icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of  Field Research Officer with the Research Group of Tuberculosis and Leprosy under the Centre for Communicable Diseases. The appointment will be made on a contractual service agreement basis for 3 months, which may be extended for further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Duty station – Dhaka

Salary – Tk.33,386/- (consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. No other benefit is admissible.

Job Profile

• Project Implementation: Understand research protocol and data collection techniques from Research Investigator; collect data from laboratories and hospitals; interview Community based Programmatic Management of Drug Resistant TB (cPMDT) enrolled patients and their DOT providers, check data for accuracy; share necessary information with Research investigator while writing reports to share with relevant partners (e.g. researchers, GoB, WHO and Centre for Disease Control and Prevention); discuss any issues, that may arise during project implementation with Research Investigator in order to collect, test and analysis data related to the research project;

• Project Administration: Coordinate with administration team for procurement of project items; coordinate with NGOs, GoB and other external partners for deployment of personnel and resources to field sites in order to support project execution;

• Scientific Analysis and Knowledge Creation: Share ideas on how to analyze the data with researchers; co-author manuscripts and write abstracts; coordinate with Centre Support Unit (CSU) to arrange logistics for seminars; invite community members to attend; provide inputs to supervisor for creating presentations in order to contribute to the creation and dissemination of knowledge.

Requirements:

Education and Relevant Experience:

• Masters in Biological Science or any other relevant research domain;
• 2 years experience in field research.

• Computer proficiency in using MS Office.
