Job Purpose
1. Main Objectives The Country Medical Officer will work under the direct supervision and responsibility of the Medical Coordinator.
The position will be responsible for the supervision and follow up of the PU-AMI medical activities in Myanmar.
The Country Medical Officer will base at PU-AMI Coordination Office in Yangon with frequent travel to the project bases.
1. Coordination of the medical programs
- Participate in developing and updating medical guidelines, protocols and guidebooks in cooperation with the medical coordination team and the bases.
- Implement and supervise the use of all technical tools and guidelines in the field
- Work closely with the program department for follow up and interpretation of project indicators and results
2. Supervision of the activities
- Make regular field visits to the project bases; assess the quality of the activities and ensure implementation of the tools and guidelines.
- Produce and follow up of technical recommendations with the bases
- Participate with the medical coordinator in the follow up of the objectives and indicators of the programs.
- Provide feedbacks on medical reports submitted by project medical officers/ medical advisors
3. Epidemiological data analysis and follow up
- Give the feedbacks on monthly medical data and indicators to the program and the bases.
- Produce analytical reports on health indicators and epidemiological data according to the guidance of medical coordinator
- Assist the medical coordinator in program design on epidemiology and medical statistics
4. Technical support
- Provide technical support in responding various medical issues/ questions
- Technical validation on IEC tools and training guidelines
- Technical support to officers at the bases organizing trainings for them if necessary
- Assist the medical coordinator in interpretation of drug consumption and need analysis at the bases.
5. Others
- Participate in the medical workshops and trainings
- Participate in technical/ coordination meetings with partners, donors and DOH
- Work with all other departments to ensure the good functioning of the programmes
Position Requirements
1. Medical Doctor MB BS degree
2. Experience in the public health is preferred
3. At least 2 years of working experience with INGO and clinical experience and experience in similar position would be an asset
4. Ability to prepare and write up reports and evaluations
5. Excellent interpersonal communication skills
6. Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power point)
