Background Information - CSG
Corporate Support Practice Group
The purpose of the Corporate Support Practice Group is to provide a range of specialized corporate support services to the organization. The core functions of the Corporate Support Practice Group are to:
a. Articulate policies and processes relating to corporate support services; enable operationalization and managerial oversight through appropriate systems and reports; provide corporate advice and guidance; and strengthen the knowledge, skills and career development of practitioners in these areas.
b. Avail information and communications technology, general administration and security services in support of UNOPS globally.
Functional Responsibilities
The main functional responsibilities are: 2012 Physical verification and certification exercise.
  • Regional Office/Operation Centre/Project Centre (RO/OC/PC)- Physical verification exercise
  • Assist with the reconciliation of the 2012 Physical verification exercise performing the ATLAS transaction for disposals, cost adjustments for both Administrative assets and Projects assets based on the physical inventory results.
  • Assist with the review of assets with tag numbers that do not follow the tagging system as outlined in the asset management Administrative Instruction and communicate with Asset Focal points to update the tag numbers.
  • Assist with the review of assets that have incorrect locations and communicate with the Asset Focal Points to update the locations.
  • HQ- Physical verification exercise
  • Assist with the finalisation of the 2012 HQ physical verification and certification exercise for both project and administrative assets Project Assets upload into ATLAS
  • Assist with reviewing the accuracy of project assets data making sure that the asset values are IPSAS compliant ( values include freight, insurance, installation costs and any other related cost)
Asset Management Maintenance
  • Maintenance of UNOPS-HQ assets involving:
  • Physically tagging new assets and untagged assets at HQ Update/revise tag numbers in asset module for HQ if necessary Perform other related duties as required.

Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education: Interns must be studying for a university degree such as Bachelor, Masters or Ph.D. (or the equivalent), or have graduated from such studies within three years prior to the application date of the internship. Experience: No prior work experience is required Langauage: Fluency in English is required
