The Server and Management Studios (samstudios) team is currently seeking an experienced, motivated, creative, and customer-focused User Experience Designer who is passionate about Server technologies, Cloud and IT services. Help us drive the transformation of Cloud computing to our customers and partners. Our vision in Server and Management Studios is to make powerful and complex technologies and management experiences for IT look easy. We deliver solutions that are the backbone of hosters, enterprises and medium-size businesses. Our charter is to bring useful, usable, desirable and harmonious design to Microsoft IT technologies and services. 

In this role, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to define, and ultimately deliver the next generation of experiences for Cloud and Datacenter Management. As the User Experience Designer, you will have the opportunity to employ a wide range of design methodologies including sketching, storyboarding, prototyping. You will collaborate closely with user research on scenario focused engineering and usability testing of your designs. You will also contribute to the continued development of company design initiatives like modern design, applied to the IT Management domain, as well as the advancement of our UX community within the Cloud and Enterprise devision and Microsoft. 

The successful candidate will need to think strategically, have strong design practices focus on high quality deliverables, and be able to target and present your designs in front of a variety of audiences. You will need to be able to work in an agile development process and juggle multiple deliverables. Additionally, you’ll need to be detail-oriented and thorough in your approach to design, but flexible enough to work within time and product constraints. Most importantly, you’ll need to be a passionate advocate for our users throughout the development process and demonstrate how this leads to business value.

Your experience should demonstrate creative solutions on a various range of plateforms, leadership, your ability to handle complex UX problems, and drive excellent execution. It will also show how the use of user research impacted your designs.

At least 3+ years of experience in the technology industry delivering visual designs, UX prototypes and information visualization Designer, User Interface Designer, Visual Designer, Interaction Design
Advanced degree in Design, Human-Computer Interactions, human, industrial engineering or equivalent experience HCI, HMI, User Centered Design
Experience with a broad range of design methodologies: Interaction Design, Visual Design, Storyboarding, Sketching, Prototyping
Experience generating design plans and specifications, red-lines, prototypes using various tools.
