INVITES INDONESIAN CITIZENS ORNATIONALS OF ASEAN RESIDING IN INDONESIATO APPLY FOR THE POSITION OFTECHNICAL OFFICER STANDARDS & CONFORMANCEASEAN REGIONAL INTEGRATION SUPPORT from the EUROPEAN UNION (ARISE)TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME
Background:
The ARISE Project is an EU financed Technical Assistance Programme to support ASEANEconomic Integration Process through the implementation of the ASEAN EconomicCommunity (AEC) blueprint for the realisation of the AEC. The purpose is to enhance thecapacities of the ASEAN member States in harmonising and implementing policies andregulations in the economic and trade sectors and implement them effectively drawingon EU experience, so as to contribute to the realisation of the AEC. The programme hasalso the specific objective to enhance the capacity of the ASEAN Secretariat to supportASEAN Member States in this endeavour.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide technical and administrative support to the ASEAN Bodies with respectto relevant meetings
  • Provide the relevant documents for the meetings.
  • Assist in the rapporteuring works in the meetings.
  • Coordinate the follow-up actions and decisions.
  • Coordination on schedules of meetings.
2. Provide administrative support with respect to implementation of programmesand projects in the area of standards and conformity assessment:
  • Assist in the formulating, appraising and implementing programmes/projects.
  • Maintain an information system on the overall status of projects.
  • Coordinate implementation of projects at the ASEAN Consultative Committee for Standards and Quality (ACCSQ) and Product Working Group (PWG) level.
3. Provide technical and administrative support in the implementation ofprograms for standards and conformance in the priority integration sectors andother identified sectors for integration:
  • Assist in maintaining the progress of Priority Integration Sector (PIS)
  • Assist in updating the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) scorecard for standards and conformance.
  • Coordinate with other divisions in updating the progress of PIS and scorecard.
4. Provide technical and administrative support with respect to programs andprojects with Dialogue Partners:
  • Keep updates on the progress of the programs and projects.
  • Assist in coordinating with Member States and Dialogue Partners on the development and implementation of projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering, Economics, Management, or an appropriaterelated field or discipline with a minimum five (5) years relevant work experience intechnical role. Post Graduate degree will be an advantage
  • Candidates with science/engineering background will be an added advantageï‚§ Demonstrated knowledge and policy, research and technical skills in the relevant areaand ability to acquire them.
  • Proven skills in problem solving in a complex organisational environment and in workplanning.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, monitor and review policy andprocedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and organise tasks and work flows, with proven ability foraccuracy under pressure and adherence to deadlines.
  • Very good oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills,including experience in cross-cultural environment and international settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships withstakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative work practices.
  • Competency in computer skills with adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office andOutlook where relevant to the position.
  • Sound command of English, written and spoken.
Remuneration and Benefits:
Successful candidate will be offered the post with a probation period of six months andmonthly salary commensurate with his/her personal qualifications starting from IDR5,000,000. There are other applicable benefits which include monthly transportationallowance, outpatient medical reimbursement, hospitalisation insurance, and an annualbonus of a month's basic salary. Upon completion of the probationary period, thecandidate will be confirmed on an initial contract of up to two-years, inclusive of the six-month probationary period.
