The Office Core Experience team is building an application framework to lead the Office applications into the future. This is a unique opportunity to reimagine Office experiences and help one billion Office users to be productive on the devices they care about!
Being at the center of the Office development team will give you the opportunity to have a significant and highly visible impact on the products across Office. We work with many teams in Office, Windows, Windows Phone, both individual contributors and leads have many opportunities for cross group collaboration on the team that has established track record of successful cooperation with teams in Office, and platform teams in Windows and Phone. You have to be a quick learner to succeed at building complex apps with many partners but the results will be very rewarding with an opportunity to positively impact one billion existing Office users.
About the role:
-The Core Experience team has a diverse set of technical areas that will benefit from strong developers: application framework and threading model, view/model logic and thread separation, input and composition components for document canvases, building UX framework used across Office productivity apps.
-You will be joining a team of developers responsible for a significant parts of the UX Framework used across Office. Setting standard for the quality of design, performance, and responsiveness, and working with partners across Office and Windows will be significant part of this job.
-We are looking for an SDE with strong coding and design skills. Experience building UX and passion for building delightful and usable software is a big plus.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experiences:
-Experience owning and developing features end-to-end.
-3+ years of professional software development experience in the high-tech industry.
-Experience writing object-oriented code. Native-code C++ experience (or desire to learn) is preferred.
-BA or BS in Computer Science or related discipline preferred.
