As part of Core Search team, our team measures availability & reliability across the entire Bing services stack. We set, manage and hold teams across the organization accountable to internal targets & SLAs. Our main goal is to improve end-users experience through deep understanding of the service. By employing various approaches including real-time traffic shaping, application of advanced techniques to offline aggregation and deep analysis of data collected across Bing, we turn petabytes of data into insights and act on those insights.

Roles & Responsibilities 
Create data pipeline using ETL technologies to process data from Bing's data warehouse 
Generate actionable insights from Bing data for improving end user quality of service and the search system Pitch your ideas to teams & leaders across Bing
Apply data mining and statistics to measure and understand the search user experience and Bing’s Quality of Service
Identify availability & performance issues & risks across Bing's distributed architecture 
Provide technical leadership to others within the team
Interact frequently with senior leadership regarding opportunities to improve Bing's reliability, supportability, performance, etc.

Skills & Qualifications
Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server technologies (Relational and Multi-Dimensional) 
Extensive knowledge and experience in at least two (preferably three) of the following areas: data warehousing, data processing (ETL), data mining, statistics, business intelligence, parallel and distributed computation
Knowledgeable with processing of large amounts of data 
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred

Experience Required 
Demonstrable business results from previous projects using your statistics, mathematical and algorithmic expertise
Experience in analyzing large real world datasets. Hands-on approach to data analysis - expertise with data analysis & statistical tools
Experience working on commercial C++/C# code

Experience with design patterns of Internet scale and distributed systems
