Relief International is a humanitarian non-profit agency that provides emergency relief, rehabilitation, development assistance, and program services to vulnerable communities worldwide. Relief International is dedicated to reducing human suffering and is non-political and non-sectarian in its mission.
Relief International Myanmar is implementing a project to strengthen the capacity of women's cooperatives in Myanmar. The project will include working with one national-level umbrella cooperative and supporting women's involvement in cooperatives at the community-level. Activities will include raising awareness of the function and role of cooperatives, direct support in the setting-up of cooperatives, and the networking of cooperatives to the national network and local communities.

General Description of Role
The Project Officer will assist in the scheduling and oversight of all project activities, taking responsibility for liaison with local authorities and other local stakeholders, assisting on report writing, ensuring regular monitoring of all activities.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project management team to plan and schedule all the project activities in the field laid out in the project proposal.
  • Participation in project management, administration and monitoring at the field level in collaboration and supervision of the Project Manager.
  • Implement the project activities on the field in close consultation with the stakeholders and other responsible project staff.
  • Ensure collection, compilation and interpretation of information needed for timely reporting on project progress.
  • Guarantee regular field visit for the project activities implementation according to the work plans.
  • Maintains effective liaisons with Governmental bodies, CSOs, communities and other strategic actors on the field.
  • Facilitate and organize internal monitoring, donor visit or technical support visits to the project areas.
  • Participate in finding new potential project areas and support the team in Need
  • Assessment activities and with the preparation and submission of funds requests
  • Participate in project proposal writing and Plan Of Action for program expansion in collaboration with team members Suggest and participate on the development of promotional materials, newsletters, and/or brochures, as appropriate to the project
  • Assure the management of field offices including proper maintenance of inventory of property
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Project Management
Desired background and experience
  • Education to University Degree in relevant fields.
  • At least 3 years proven experience in NGOs/INGOs/UN Organizations
  • Able to work independently to conduct the day-to-day operations of the organization in the field, asking for support when needed.
  • Fluency in oral and written communication skills (English and Myanmar)
  • Excellent working knowledge and skill on computer (MS Word, Excel, and Power point )
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks Ability to be pro-active and demonstrated enthusiasm and team spirit
  • Adaptable to change and capacity to work under pressure
  • High Level of Integrity
  • Ability to travel
