The Position:
The Manufacturing Engineering group has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) / Sr. Manufacturing Engineer that has experience in assembly process automation. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced TPM/Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development of manufacturing solutions to produce and deliver highly automated manufacturing solutions to build medium to high-end consumer and enterprise products. These solutions will require a high level of system and factory automation to manufacture and deliver high quality product to market. This will include automation in support of sizing, measuring, fitting and assembling system based products. In addition it also includes the development of inspection and measurement techniques to produce product to a very high finish standards.

The Role:
The Senior TPM / Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for creating and deploying creative manufacturing solutions that brings a competitive advantage to Microsoft Hardware Products. These solutions will be in the area of designing manufacturing techniques to meet new and innovative product designs, and/or establish advance manufacturing techniques that provide cost and quality competitive advantages. He/She will own driving the development cycle including discovery, development and deployment activities in time for critical product launches and process improvement schedules. This role will involve developing a strong relationship between product development groups and manufacturing operational teams. It will own establishing the right roadmap that will meet the requirements of the product design and the business. In addition this role will engage with external solution providers to validate and assess both off the shelf and turnkey solutions and lead the migration of these solutions into mainstream production. 

The Person:
This person will need to have demonstrated leadership and willingness to accept ownership of driving solutions to difficult problems. This will include playing a strong leadership role in the leadership management team and bringing the right level of technical and engineering capability to the table regardless of organization boundaries. 

In addition the candidate needs to have a proven track record of leadership within technical teams. He/she will need to have a strong engineering discipline and can quickly assess the technical and engineering implication and drive the organization in the right direction. 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership in the following areas:
- Implementing new fixtures or automation equipment
- Developing automation solutions for assembly processes
- Making decisions about people and budgets that shows a strong level of accountability and ownership, and providing inputs during management review session that sets the tone for the organization has a whole.
- Leading and driving specific product design discussions across manufacturing and supply base groups.
- The ability to engage at the right level with both technical and Industry leadership. 
- Accountable for establishing the right metric and success criteria for new production/manufacturing solutions.
- Engaging with peer and support teams to transfer and deliver solutions in a seamless and organized fashion.
- Demonstrated experience and learning’s has a customer of an Advance Technology Development Group with knowledge of the challenges and difficulties with new process and technology adoption. 

Qualifications:
- BSc/MSc in a strong engineering discipline with 10+ years demonstrating engineering leadership in a multinational corporation. 
- An established record of leadership in a Technology Development Role.
- Proven track record of implementation of game changing solution that has resulted in proven leadership in manufacturing. 
- Ability to communicate effectively with demonstrated success in upward communication to senior management.
- A strong demonstration of the application of structured problem solving on big problems (> $500M) and the ability to quickly provide distinct and precise updates to senior management. 
- Proven leadership record, team development, and strategic planning and implementation.
- Adept at managing internal and external relationships through use of interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in diverse cultural environments with cultural sensitivity.
