Duration of assignment: 2 months starting from 1st October, 2013 to December 31, 2013, then extendable 3 year contract
Working Day: 5 days a week
Working Hour: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with 1 hour lunch time

Background
We are looking for and engaged, passionate and intelligent Myanmar national to join our team. EcoDev is a leading environmental civil society NGO operating across Myanmar. EcoDev has been played a substantial role in land transfer to Communities and land tenure policy dialogue over the last 15 years. EcoDev has also been engaged in many environmental rehabilitation projects in many different ethnic and ecological areas across Myanmar. This project fits under the EcoDev's 'Healthier Environment' programme and will involve working in collaboration with the Environmental Investigation Agency based in London. This project aims to build an independent forest monitoring network, to monitor deforestation and illegal logging across Myanmar. Between 1990 and 2005, Burma lost an average of 466,000 hectares of forest per year – or 18% of its total forest cover during that period. The deforestation rate has increased by 13.5% since the close of the 1990s. Drivers of deforestation vary around the country depending on location, however large scale agricultural concessions; infrastructure development and logging play a significant role. This project aims to empower and individuals and organisations to both document and campaign against this trade as well as build capacity to mobilise against other natural resource conflicts.
Duty and Responsibility
1. Responsible for working as part of a 3 person team to begin to gather documentation on deforestation, and work towards creation of forest monitoring network
2. Responsible in role of coordinator to coordinate between Myanmar partners and organisations, and Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA)
3. Responsible for coordinating an independent forest monitoring network
4. Responsible for translating information from Environmental investigations and data collection into monthly summary report
5. Responsible for directly monitoring field level work for environmental investigations and direct data collection from field partners in assigned geographical areas to be decided
6. Responsible for financial management of project, including collection and submission of receipts
7. Responsible for setting agenda, logistics, facilitation and report for training on Environmental Investigation
8. Responsible for assisting with agenda and logistics for follow up training for activists on Environmental Documentation and Advocacy
9. Manual Development and translation for Environmental Documentation and Monitoring in Burmese
10. Assist with inputs for reporting
11. Responsible for documentation and file keeping
12. Must perform according to the above duties
Qualifications
1. High standard of English language skills, both written and spoken
2. University degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Development, Environment, Forestry, Languages or associated field
3. Conceptual understanding of environmental and land tenure issues in Myanmar
4. Prior work experience working for civil society organisation (3 years)
5. Prior experience engaging in or coordinating a network
6. Computer literate, competent at Microsoft Office

For other , half paid for first two weeks and without paid for the rest for duration Not Cover Service contract could be terminated by both parties (Employee and employer) with one month prior informed and consensus.
