INTERN, STRATEGIC FORESIGHT
The Strategic Foresight team engages World Economic Forum communities in strategic dialogues to understand and address complex and uncertain long-term challenges. The work is inter-organizational and multistakeholder in terms of governance and participation, and provides a space in which communities, common understanding and trust can emerge.
Under the guidance of a senior member of the team, you will manage specific project workstreams, including setting goals and milestones, managing timelines and inputs, and ensuring high-quality output. You will familiarize yourself with the Forum's values and ways of operating and effectively leverage resources within the organization to accomplish research and project objectives.
You will also:
- Conduct research and prepare background analysis under the guidance of a senior member of the team
o Identify appropriate sources of information
o Gather, structure and present data, statistics or factual information
o Plan and support interviews and synthesize key findings in summaries and minutes
o Deliver quantitative and qualitative analysis in which the inputs and outputs are clear, reliable, dependable and well-documented,
o Communicate clearly and persuasively the main ideas and findings from research and analysis through written, graphical or oral presentation
- Familiarize yourself with the foresight methods used by the team, specifically the unique multistakeholder scenario approach, complexity tools and paradigm mapping
- Provide support for basic tasks related to project management work, helping with logistics, coordination and communication related to events, reports and meetings
You have a BA or MA (or equivalent) in business administration, international relations, economics or a related field. You have general knowledge of and interest in strategic and global issues. You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and fluency in spoken and written English. You are also proficient in the use of spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software.
You have a strong track record in primary and secondary research in an academic and/or consulting setting, and have demonstrated the ability to take initiative and work independently. You have also demonstrated the ability to coordinate work with others and show commitment to the collective output of a project team.
