Project Manager: Humanitarian Project Manager, KachinPlan is an international humanitarian, child-centred development organisation, implementingdevelopment programs that promote the realisation and fulfilment of children's rights and thealleviation of child poverty. Plan Myanmar is launching a humanitarian response in the IDPcamps of Kachin working closely with partners.
Position: Project Manager
Assignment Duration: One year fixed term contract with possibility of extension.

Job background:
The Humanitarian Project Manager will oversee and support the humanitarian
response of Plan Myanmar in Kachin in close cooperation with partners. The Project Managerwill be assisted by 2-3 Field Officers who will report to the Project Manager. Other aspects ofthe role include partnership management, planning, M&E, representation and liaison at thelocal level. Implementation of Plan's programmes will be almost exclusively through localpartner NGOs. This position is based full-time in Myitkyina with extensive field travel. TheHumanitarian Project Manager will report to the Humanitarian Response Manager.Job purpose: Lead Plan and partners' humanitarian response in Kachin and oversee themanagement of grants and contracts with partner organizations
  • Represent Plan in all relevant
forums and ensure adequate levels of coordination at both state and national levels
  • Actively
participate in establishing a secure funding base, including participating in the preparation ofproposals for ECHO, AUSAID, and others
  • Lead the development of an advocacy strategy for
the improvement of humanitarian work in Kachin
  • Provide capacity-building to Plan staff and
partners including government officials
  • Ensured the effective inclusion vulnerable groups at
all stages of the program design
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Minimum five years of proven experience managing
humanitarian response programmes
  • Experience using result-based monitoring and evaluation
  • Demonstrated understanding of the humanitarian emergency operating context including
Sphere, the humanitarian system, security and program management
  • Experience working
and cooperating with local NGOs
  • Academic degree in relevant area
  • Good English language
skills, both oral and written
  • Strong team-building and facilitation skills.
