Description

For fifty years, we’ve been campaigning for human rights wherever justice, freedom and truth are denied. We’ve reshaped policies, challenged governments and taken corporations to task. And in doing so, we’ve changed thousands of lives for the better. Right now, we’re positioning our brand on a global scale. And overseeing the delivery of our major communications channel, your contribution will be critical in realising the potential of global campaigning.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
In this influential support role working alongside the Programme Director, you’ll help to drive our digital communications efforts through delivery of a diverse range of initiatives, from the organisation’s new global website to the development of technologies for human rights defenders. In practical terms, this means using agile methodologies to oversee day-to-day operations within the Programme – making sure Technical, UX and Project teams are working to the right priorities and resources are allocated appropriately. You’ll also act as ambassador of our global digital communications function, working with our offices around the globe to build a greater understanding of digital’s role within the organisation. This is your chance to play a central role in the digital transformation of a multinational organisation.

ABOUT YOU:
A talented digital programme manager, you’ll have experience of leading teams in the delivery of multi-language, customer-facing digital products. If you’ve worked for a not-for-profit organisation before then that’s all the better. But either way, you’ll have in-depth knowledge of how digital business trends, information management, technology and innovation is changing the communications landscape and how to apply this to civil society. A strong marketing background across various multimedia platforms is essential. As is the ability to maintain a line of sight between projects being delivered and our overarching digital vision – keeping the motivations of our audiences in mind throughout. But just as importantly, you’ll bring the communication skills to build and maintain relationships, as well as the confidence to present to, negotiate with and influence a variety of stakeholders at senior levels.

ABOUT US:
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, freedom and truth wherever they’re denied. Already our network of over three million members and supporters is making a difference in 150 countries. And whether we’re applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
