Description
Microsoft Advertising’s Channel Partner & Exchange team is looking for a highly-motivated Senior Partner Sales Executive to manage relationships with strategic channel partners such as agency trading desks, DSP’s and ad networks. The Channel Partner & Exchange team is on the cutting edge of the digital advertising industry, helping Microsoft to solidify its position as a premium ad exchange full of exclusive access to Microsoft Owned & Operated and partner inventory sold in a programmatic manner that includes, but is not limited to Real-Time Bidding (RTB).
The Senior Partner Sales Executive position plays a key role in the Microsoft Advertising account team, responsible for generating revenue from a specific set of customers, maintaining the overall relationship with those customers and other industry intermediaries, and coordination of ad exchange selling efforts with our Media Network and field sales teams.
Core Responsibilities
• Generate revenue towards a define quota established for the Microsoft Advertising Exchange by selling into Agency Trading Desks, DSP’s, and other Channel Partner entities.
• Exhibit good judgment about when and how to introduce customers to the exchange, taking into account their interest, marketing needs, readiness, and existing spend
• Maintain high customer satisfaction with Channel Partners, end customers, and other intermediaries by providing insights into their buying behavior via regular meetings and business reviews
• Develop and own strategic account plans for new and existing partners
• Cultivate strong relationships while serving as the face of Microsoft Advertising within the RTB community
• Collaborate with other Microsoft Advertising sales teams to help drive revenue with joint customers
• Be the subject matter expert within US Field Sales on all things relating to the Microsoft Ad Exchange, programmatic buying, and the evolution of the business in that direction
• Consult account teams on whether, when, and how to transition customers to programmatic buying through an exchange, be it through an agency, a DSP, a network, or some combination of the three
• Where appropriate, work with the marketing team to develop and assist in events for customers
• Maintain a pipeline of existing and prospective partnerships for an accurate forecast
• Attend and participate at RTB-relevant conferences, seminars, and industry events
• Develop relationships with third party companies including AppNexus, data providers, data exchanges, ad verification companies, and supply side platforms that catalyze our exchange business with agencies and advertisers
Qualifications:
• 7+ years’ experience in display advertising sales, within the Internet Media Industry
• A deep understanding of the online advertising display space with a focus on audience-based selling, the tools and technology that enable it, as well as the various intermediaries that sit in between Advertisers and Publishers
• Experience with partner/channel/alliance management, business development and negotiations with executives that may be C-level, SVP, or VPs within their organizations
• Experience with direct advertiser sales, including negotiations and management of strategic partnerships at senior levels within the marketing division and agency
