Africa Capitalization Fund, which makes equity and equity-related investments in commercial banks in North and Sub-Saharan Africa
Russian Bank Capitalization Fund, which makes equity and equity related investments in commercial banks in Russia
IFC Catalyst Fund which makes fund and direct investments focused on resource efficiency in the emerging markets globally
IFC Global Infrastructure Fund, which invests alongside IFC in infrastructure and, selectively, natural resources companies and projects in emerging markets
In addition, AMC is planning to raise and manage additional funds in the future, each with a focus on a particular sector, region or product.
IFC’s investment departments support AMC by providing origination, execution and supervision
services, but all investment and portfolio decisions for funds under management are taken independently by AMC.
AMC is looking to hire an Assistant to join its dynamic administrative team. The selected candidate will be assigned to the IFC Catalyst Fund team. In that capacity, s/he will be the administrative core of the Catalyst team, working with the Head and other staff.

Background / General description
IFC Asset Management Company, LLC (AMC) is the fund management arm of International Finance Corporation (IFC). AMC was established in 2009 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of IFC, to mobilize and manage third-party capital for investment in private enterprise in developing and frontier markets. It aims to enhance IFC’s development impact and financial sustainability, as well as generating profits for investors. AMC–managed funds are targeted at large sophisticated investors who are looking to increase their exposure to emerging markets and who are interested in accessing IFC’s transaction pipeline, investment approach and standards, global reach and track record of superior returns. AMC currently has approximately $6 billion under management in the following funds:
Duties and Accountabilities
- Provide a full range of administrative support including scheduling meetings, managing logistical arrangements for travel, and ensuring effective processing of all documents and correspondence, including appropriate clearances and distributions
- Prepare, organize, and disseminate briefing materials, binders or other documentation
- Word processing including editing, proofreading, and formatting a variety of documents accurately and independently in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with AMC guidelines and high-quality output
- Handle internal expense and travel transactions
- Assist in the work program of the unit as needed
- Proactively handle telephone inquiries and resolve non-routine problems
- Answer/redirect inquiries using initiative and good judgment
- Keep up to date on new software to enhance quality of work product and faster turnaround of documents
- Identify diverse issues as they arise, which often requires interpreting existing procedures and processes and independently determine appropriate application/solution
- Play an active role in developing practical approaches to enhance the work organization and effectiveness in the unit
- Event planning and coordination
- Back up other administrative staff on the team as needed
Selection Criteria
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in an international company or organization
- Strong written and oral communication skills, proficiency in English is essential
- Ability to organize, edit, and draft a variety of documents with good proofreading skills and attention to detail to ensure high quality work.
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent team player with ability to interact tactfully and effectively with clients and staff in a multi-cultural environment
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast paced environment including the ability to prioritize and balance competing demands under pressure, while keeping attention to detail
- Very competent in office technology systems - Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, PowerPoint
- Desire to actively contribute to the unit’s objectives. High level of commitment and reliability
- Willingness to be flexibility in terms of hours
- High degree of judgment, discretion, and diplomacy in handling confidential and sensitive matters
- Good knowledge of IFC/World Bank group policies and procedures
