Job Vacancy Position: Short Term Collaboration-Community Based Approaches Expert Possible Duty Station: 1 Post based in Yangon and field areas of Cesvi Myanmar Duration of Assignment: 2months Service Agreement.
CESVI is a non religious, nonprofit International NGO running projects in the fields of Livelihood recovery, Food Security, Agriculture, Water and Sanitation, Health, Community development in Mandalay Region, Magway Region, Sagaing Region, Yangon Region, Kachin State and Northern Shan State. Background CESVI Myanmar is committed to promoting and supporting active engagement with communities as equal partners in all its community development initiatives. Its vision within the Country Strategy is the empowerment of the communities for the decision making on integrated development. For the implementation of its activities it has developed a number of innovative community based techniques, some of which are documented in a variety of different documents. Under the technical guidance and supervision of Cesvi Country Representative the Community Based Approaches expert is responsible to collaborate in the revision and finalization of the manual documenting all the different approaches, techniques and best practices used by Cesvi. Responsibilities
  • Desk review of documentation available and relevant literature
  • Consultation with program staff on Community Based Approaches already in place (YGN-field)
  • If considered necessary and agreed with the Country Rep, facilitate an internal workshop on the topic
  • Revision and Finalization of the manual Methodologies
  • Secondary Document Reviewed Focus Group Discussion Key informant Interview Meeting with Key Stakeholders Debrief and discussion with Country Representative and Sector Coordinators
Deliverables:
  • Final Community Based Approach manual in Cesvi assigned reporting format. Qualification and Experiences:
  • Applicants should have University Degree preferred in Social Sciences, Applied Anthropology or development related subjects;
  • At least 3 years experience in development sector having developed operational guidelines and manuals;
  • Sound Familiarity with participatory techniques
  • Very good in English written and oral
