Description
As a Datacenter Solution Specialist you will lead a virtual team of technical, marketing, partner, and consulting resources to advance the sales process and achieve/exceed quarterly budget targets in your territory. Microsoft’s Datacenter field sales team leads the effort in evangelizing one of the most exciting growth areas of Microsoft’s business, including winning the Systems Management platform, moving our customers into the private cloud and in realizing the capabilities of the public cloud (Azure). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing new business, building strong business relationships, driving Windows Server, virtualization, cloud and management software sales along with partner integration.
Key Responsibilities include:
•Creating and executing a business plan to ensure your product's revenue and unit goals are achieved.
•Developing a healthy pipeline of qualified opportunities.
•Bringing customers to agreement on the business value of proven Windows, Azure and System Center solutions.
•Orchestrate and ensure appropriate resources are engaged to help customers evaluate Microsoft Windows and System Center solutions.
•Drive customer and partner deployment and satisfaction for the MSFT datacenter product portfolio
•Connect enterprise customers and partners with the Microsoft’s engineering, marketing and sales leaders internally as appropriate
•Contributing to the recruitment, engagement and readiness of partners who can help drive business.
•Team effectively with other sales representatives, partners, Microsoft Consulting Services and marketing resources to meet your goals and customer needs.
•Understand Microsoft strengths relative to competition and effectively communicate those strengths to customers in a positive manner. Knowledge of VMware, HP, BMC, Novell, Altiris, Symantec, Linux, and other Unix technologies is a plus.
Requirements and skills for this position include:
•Previous experience with solution selling, based on business value principles
•History of holding and consistently exceeding sales quota
•Practical knowledge and experience of Microsoft Server platform technologies, customer operational issues and 3rd party integration with the Windows platform is preferred.
•Ability to articulate the business value of the Microsoft platform by positioning Microsoft datacenter and cloud technologies in competitive scenarios.
•Account Management and prioritization excellence
•Effectively manages sales pipeline with predictable business results that exceed revenue targets. High degree of collaboration with multiple Microsoft sales personnel, as well as Microsoft partners will be required for success.
•Strong objection handling skills.
•Discipline of time management.
•Hard work ethic.
•The ability to have fun and to enjoy working with great people.
•The ability to effectively present and sell to a wide range and size of audiences from IT Pro to CxO to business decision makers
•A modern understanding of issues surrounding deployment, management, security and integration of technologies and solutions is also required.
Occasional Travel: Candidates must be able to travel to cover the entire territory as opportunities warrant. Focused territory will be in Chicagoland area.
Education/Certifications:
Successful candidates will have a BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience and 6+years of enterprise software sales experience.
