Our team owns the internal “IT Dev Center” where corporate app developers submit their apps for certification and publishing. We perform technical and content certification of these apps as well as managing their deployment through the Window’s Intune “Company Portal”. To facilitate and accelerate the development of internal apps we also develop and operate a set of “app services” including enterprise app heartbeat, federated identity, app feedback and ratings, and app exception reporting. These services enable a user-centric app ecosystem all of which is driven from the “IT Dev Center” portal.
We are looking for an experienced development lead who can help architect and implement our set of “app services”. This job requires this person to extensively engage with the internal app development community and key product group contacts in order to make sure the “app services” make app development easier and deliver value to developer. Additionally, this developer is expected to provide strong engineering discipline and guidance to the broader development team, including vendor and contingent engineering teams.
The ideal candidate for this position will be passionate about Windows Store and/or Windows Phone app development and will have already publish either an internal or public app. They should have a demonstrated track record in designing, developing and delivering large-scale, highly-reliable Azure- or SharePoint-based services. Experience as a developer in a Microsoft product group or as part of a Microsoft TAP program would distinguish this candidate.
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong design, coding, debugging, team work, and communication skills
• 5+ years of experience shipping commercial software
• 3+ years leading the design of systems and/or an development team
• Experience with developer to developer engagement with a product group is preferred
• Minimally BS degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
Required skills:
• 8+ years of development with .NET or C#
• 5+ years of experience shipping commercial software
• 3+ years leading the design of systems and/or an development team
• Windows Store App Development Experience
• HTML5 or JavaScript in a web environment, app environment or mobile environment
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with developer to developer engagement with a product group is preferred
• Minimally BS degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
