This position provides the opportunity to work on a broad array of technologies, ranging from networking protocols, Client/Server infrastructure, VOIP, RTP, RESTful Services and HTML5/Javascript. As a developer on this team you will be responsible for designing and developing the core pieces of technology that will enable many collaborative scenarios.
We're looking for developers that:
- BS in Computer Science, or related degree, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of relevant software development experience in C/C++ or related technologies
- Have experience in a combination of software application-layer, user interface, networking layer, web services, or server levels
- Strong communication/collaboration skills and the ability to deal with ambiguity and prioritize issues: The team will need to work with other platform owners and groups to integrate services across an array of various clients
- Ability to perform cross-network debugging experience across multiple platforms and servers
- Are comfortable writing tests as they write code: we aim for quality and stability in finite increments
- Ability to lead and collaborate in engagements with partner teams across Microsoft
- Ability to quickly ramp up on multiple technology areas across the Skype organization to ensure an optimal architecture is chosen
Helpful, but not Required skills:
- C# experience
- Distributed system architecture
- Networking for low-latency, loosely coupled systems
