IITA is an international non-profit research-for-development (R4D) organization created in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and supported primarily by the Consultative Group of International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Our R4D is anchored on the development needs of sub-Saharan Africa. We develop agricultural solutions with our partners to tackle hunger and poverty by reducing producer and consumer risks, enhancing crop quality and productivity, and generating wealth from agriculture. We have more than 100 internationally recruited scientists from about 35 countries and 900 nationally recruited staff based in various stations across Africa.
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable applicant for the position of Community Resource Center (CRC) Liaison Officer at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.
Duties
Successful candidate will perform the following duties:
  • Administer and manage all CRC activities
  • Manage and supervise the staff and resources assigned to CRC including the Crèche
  • Support planning and organization of courses and project workshops
  • Identify and articulate the needs of IITA residents staff spouses that can be addressed by the CRC and stimulate projects for the IITA campus community.
  • Liaise with IITA Management through the office of the Head, Human Resources to implement CRC programs and obtain resources required to execute them.
  • Prepare an annual budget and monitor income and expenditure throughout the year and present to Advisory Committee members at meetings
  • Maintain course records e.g. applicant/enrolment logs; log to travel advances, travel expenses and establish and maintain course or project files and archives
  • Prepare and track purchase orders
  • Prepare records and reports as required by the Advisory Committee and the IITA Management
  • Ensure that the administrative offices and equipment are well maintained, clean and orderly
  • Maintain relevant database on all international staff spouses to ensure effective services by the CRC
  • Appraise staff performance
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Qualification and Experience
Secretarial skills and computer literacy are essential +5 years relevant job experience. English and French language desirable.
