Mine Action Cluster
The UNOPS Mine Action Cluster (MAC), within the Global Partner Services Office (GPSO), is a principal service provider to the United Nations, governments of mine-affected countries and other partners. The Mine Action Cluster was established in 1997. Based in New York, it has helped partners to significantly improve the lives of people in more than 30 countries across the world. The Mine Action Cluster supports emergency, post-conflict and peacekeeping operations. It delivers fast procurement, recruitment and management services to facilitate humanitarian aid and launch emergency mine clearance. The cluster is responsible for administration, as well as providing support and overseeing the day-to-day management of the project field offices, in line with the partners' requirements and UNOPS rules and regulations. It is headed by the Cluster Chief who has overall authority and accountability for the performance of the Mine Action Cluster on behalf of its partners. MACCA invites applications from newly graduated Afghan youth with/without previous working experience for its Kabul based Internship program. The aim of the internship program is to offer students or recent graduates meaningful work experience that would enhance their employability and skills. By doing so, MACCA also gains the possibility to bring in fresh talent and new perspective to a specific project or team.
This program provides these graduates with a good understanding of the Afghanistan mine action program, practical working experience in a UN project, as well as training, coaching, mentoring and guidance in various fields. The internees will be responsible for providing general administration / technical support to the respected department(s).

MACCA provide the interns with:
- Financial compensation as stipend to cover his/her possible costs during the internship period.
- Time off according to the MACCA policies and procedures.
- Training, coaching, mentoring and guidance services; and
- Certificate of service at the end of the internship period.
- Assist HR section in day-to-day activities i.e., arranging interview schedules, scanning document etc.
- Arrange all HR/Logistics records, files and documents either in chronological or alphabetical order, depending on the type and following standard file naming conventions
- Scan, Archive and dispose records and documents in accordance with the UNOPS Record Retention Policy and understand and follow the rules depending on the retention schedule
- Communicate with logistics section on HR weekly pouch and other correspondence.
- Assist logistics section in stocktaking and physical verification, tracking incoming requisitions and take approval from related authorities.
- Perform other relevant task as assigned by the MACCA Management.

Education:
Interns should be studying for a university degree such as Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. (or the equivalent) or have graduated from such studies within three years prior to the application date of the internship.
The candidate should preferably be enrolled in a degree program in a relevant field.
Experience:
- No specific experience is required;
- adequate knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications is desirable.
- Intermediate level in English (writing, speaking and reading) is required for this post.
